boxwalking
12th - 14th September 2025
boxwalking brings together nine contemporary artists whose use of traditional mediums - drawing, ceramics, painting - are reimagined through an expanded, tactile lens.
Rooted in domestic and rural settings, the works carry a sense of otherness: landscapes feel precarious, objects lean and falter. Drawing becomes an act beyond the page: stitched into fabric, traced onto baking paper, wrapped around objects, and enacted through clay.
Each mark, trace, or fold holds a potent presence, upheld by handcrafted glazes, paints and textiles that assert material agency with a familiar intimacy.
The exhibition is hosted in a former stable in a private home and at Woodshedding Brewery in Westcombe, a hamlet in Batcombe parish, situated between Frome and Bruton, Somerset, UK.
